I decided to join the financial consultancy line after completing my national service. Coming from a humble and low-income family, I was inspired to get into a profession where I could help people achieve their financial goals and live comfortably.

Since becoming a financial consultant, I’ve worked hard to achieve my personal career goals, and am now a member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), as well as an International Dragon Award (IDA) awardee. The efforts of achieving my personal career goals in the first year definitely paid off well, and we grew from a one-man operation to 10 in a year.

The key drivers that motivate me.
The thirst for progress and future career prospects are key drivers that keep me motivated as a financial consultant. I want to be able to challenge myself daily in this industry. Coaching talents and achieving breakthroughs from all walks of life give me motivation in my day-to-day work.

Wearing multiple hats.
Apart from being their financial consultant, I am also very close friends with all my clients. I play a multi-faceted role in their lives and I will always be the one they turn to when they need advice for anything they encounter in their personal and professional lives.

Putting myself in my clients’ shoes.
The strong desire I have to be of service and to serve my clients keeps me competent and is one of my biggest strengths as a financial consultant. My unique selling point is that I will always work in my clients’ best interest and provide them with the best service I can, I treat my clients with the same expectations as how I would like my own financial consultant to be when serving me.

Achieving goals even in the face of adversity.
Being awarded the IDA 2020 is my proudest accolade. I went through countless rejections and setbacks during my first year in the business as I only had 5 months to 31 December. Despite the challenging timeframe, I managed to achieve my goal. The people who have placed their trust in me during my initial phase are who I would credit for helping me earn this award.
