I started as a regular officer in the Singapore Navy for 12 years, and I left as I wanted a career that not only allows me to touch the lives of others firsthand but also be able to be my own boss. It’s been 16 years since my career changed to financial consulting, but it took me less than a year into the change to be able to realise the positive impact I had on the lives of the people around me.
Expand your reach so that you may impact more.
Realising the potential of financial consulting as a career, I decided to take the step of multiplying my values through recruitment and passing down my legacy and teachings to other financial consultants. Simply put, I am passing on the learnings from my many teachers, mentors and friends in AAG who have similarly helped me grow and become stronger.
Always look forward to meeting new people.
To me, the valuable clients that I have and the process of always meeting new people have always been my sources of joy in this career. This is the second career of my life, and probably the last. I strongly believe in the mantra that you should help someone grow because someone else has helped you grow.
Do what you love and be determined to succeed.
New financial consultants should always be hungry as they take their first step on this journey. Knowledge and skills can be learned, attitudes and habits can be cultivated, but the spirit of excellence and determination must be inspired.
