Prior to joining the financial consulting industry, I was a teacher for 7 years. Education is something I hold close to my heart and being a financial consultant allows me to marry both education and financial literacy together. I hope this will allow me to add value to my friends and family.

For me, I get my drive from seeing the joy on my clients’ faces as I help them solve their problems and issues, and identify gaps that need to be filled so that they can live each day without worrying about tomorrow.

Every financial consultant should possess sincerity and a heart to help others. In the past year of my career, I found that the most rewarding aspect comes from managing my friends’ and clients’ future retirement funds and seeing them grow. Go in knowing that you want to make the lives of others better, and the results will speak for themselves.

Independence comes at a cost too.

While joining the industry has allowed me the privilege of flexibly managing my time, newcomers should realise that it also comes at a cost — without having the right discipline and mindset in managing your time well, you will hinder yourself from realising your full potential.
