Trained to be a top-notch chemical engineer by one of the largest Fortune 500 companies in the oil and gas industry, I made the surprising life-changing career switch to the finance industry in 2018. Since then, I have qualified for internationally recognised awards such as the Million Dollar Round Table and International Dragon Award every year without fail.

Beginning 2020, as a Director, I am now grooming a team of university graduates and undergraduates to fulfil their life’s greatest aspirations by helping others achieve theirs. I believe both women and men can both be just as great, leading extremely fulfilling lives, if not more through this career. This is not just a job, it’s a way of life. A job is not just a job. It’s the biggest part of our lives.

Give the best to your clients
Push yourself even when you do not feel like working. As financial consultants, we need to be resilient, adaptable and driven to give our best for our clients. Never forget that our clients placed their trust in us even before we have proven anything to them, and therefore we need these qualities to deliver our promises well.

Dreaming big
Even though I have been in this industry for less than 5 years, I am grateful for the faith and trust my clients have placed in me. They see me for who I am and potentially could be, not for my lack of years in the industry. I couldn’t have achieved everything without that trust. Life is about the continuous realisation of our potential, and I will keep pursuing that potential year after year.

Being a friend, a professional, and someone you can rely on
When it comes to money, people can be really sensitive so they may not want to disclose their finances to friends, or even to family, no matter how close they are. With that, there will be limited tailored advice given by experienced people. I realise that’s somewhere I could fit in; to be a friend, a professional, and someone my clients can rely on for sound, tailored financial advice.

Instil confidence
We should exhibit integrity, competence and compassion. Aside from that, my chemical engineering major gives me the logical, analytical and forward-planning thinking that has helped my clients to see the value in the work I do.
