Prior to joining the financial industry, I used to be an international speaker. Back in the day, I specialised in neuro-linguistic programming, as well as personality psychology. I started out when I was 23 years old and was nominated for the Promising SME Youth Entrepreneur Award, and by 26 years old, I had already managed to travel around the region to give talks in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, and Vietnam. I then met my current mentor and decided to take my talents to venture into a brand-new industry as a financial consultant and have never looked back since.
Today, I serve my clients as a Certified Estate Planner, a member of AIA Financial Advisers Prestige Platinum Club, a member of the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table, as well as an awardee of the International Dragon Award. All of these awards, however, pale in comparison to my personal integrity and always having the heart of service toward my clients. I have but one drive – to reshape the landscape of the financial industry through design clarity, engaging media and sound financial planning.
It is not enough that you should be trustworthy, you also have to be likeable! Financial consulting is not a one-off thing. It is a long relationship that you have to constantly build with your clients in order to maintain that trust.
Impact lives in more ways than one.
In my financial advisory career, I wish to better the lives of the people around me and touch their lives in more ways than just financial impact. Be it IANsurance or IANvestment, I will always have their vested IANterests at heart.
Always be honest.
Always do proper financial planning, even if it means you do not get the case in. Do what is right and what makes sense for the client. It is their needs and not ours, that we serve.
