Over the last 12 years, I have progressed from just insurance planning to providing a holistic estate planning for my clients. In order to serve my customers better, I took up the Associate Estate Planning Practitioner (AEPP®) Certification to have the right tools for wealth distribution strategies. Getting my clients well covered is just the first step, ensuring their inheritance go to their families efficiently is the second half of my job. Without proper wills & trust set up, insurance policies bought as gifts of love could end up in the hands of unscrupulous scammers and swindlers.


Never be tempted to take shortcuts to success.

I firmly believe that we reap what we sow. This is something that new financial consultants should remember by heart. Always put your client’s interest as the first priority and your results will follow. Compassion before commission, every single time.


A career that makes a difference in our clients’ lives.

My boss Sunny Yap is the biggest influence that got me to even consider insurance as a possible career. He showed me that our roles have a huge impact in our clients’ lives and it is a career that can transform not just my own family, but the families of those I serve.


The increasing importance of estate planning.

I see an increasing importance to have estate planning as an integral role of a financial consultant. Singaporeans are getting wealthier and our family structures are evolving, which means that the default distribution of the Intestate Succession Act is often not effective. As their financial consultants, we are often the most aware of our client’s overall financial situations and thus in a unique spot to discuss this topic with them. By guiding them through a proper estate planning process, we can help avoid potential pitfalls that would otherwise tear the fabrics of the families apart.


Maintaining a fulfilling life outside of work.

I serve in the Toa Payoh Central Community Centre’s Youth Network (YN). Together with my friends, we organise youth and singles events, board game sessions, as well as monthly charity drives to children homes to teach and play games with them.

In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my wife and our 3 adorable cats. I also love cooking as well as museum-hopping with my wife. Like most Singaporeans, travelling is something I look forward to, especially places that are scenic and historical. My favourite cities are Sienna in Italy and Interlaken in Switzerland.
