With a decade’s worth of experience as a financial consultant, I am not only a part of the first and only Singapore team in history to earn the 100 IDA Team Award in 2019, but have also received multiple International Dragon Awards (IDA) and Million Dollar Round Table memberships. Most recently, I was awarded the Top Corporate Solutions Director 2019, 1st Runner Up Director for Affluent and High Net Worth Awards 2019 and qualified as a member of the AIA Financial Advisers Prestige Platinum Club and Pinnacle Club 2020. On top of that, I have also achieved the titles as Personal Wealth Manager and High Net Worth Director of AIA High Net Worth Prestige Club for consecutive 2 years in 2019 and 2020.

I didn’t start out as a stranger to the financial services industry — prior to becoming a self-employed financial consultant, I used to work in the backend department of an insurance firm before deciding that life can be more! It has been a decade and life truly started for me after taking that leap of faith out of my comfort zone.

Every financial consultant should be a bona fide professional.
This, to me, is the most important quality every financial consultant should have. I owe it to myself and the industry to demonstrate my passion and vision and transform how people view us financial services practitioners. In fact, I am always finding ways to elevate the professionalism of financial consultants in how we practise.

You never walk alone.
As financial consultants, we strive to walk with our clients in their wealth and life journey. That is the biggest goal of my career, and I derive immense satisfaction from my contribution to my clients’ lives. I firmly believe that we can inspire compassion and kindness through our business dealings, and it is through being of service to others that we can find true happiness and peace.

A growth mindset is important too.
Life is a journey of continuous self-improvement, and this is applicable to our journeys as financial consultants too. As I undertake my job as a financial consultant, I am always finding ways to do better for my clients, which goes back to my goal of finding happiness and peace through my service to others.
