After being in F&B operations for 10 years working hectic shifts and weekends, the lack of work-life balance led me to search for better career options. I decided to make the switch to financial consulting, and haven’t looked back since.

I understand the importance of families as our social support in life. As someone who also wishes to spend more time with her family, I stay motivated in my line of work knowing that I am also contributing to keeping other families protected.

Attitude and integrity are most important.
Most people embark on this journey for the long term, and having the right attitude is important. Before joining this industry, ask yourself what your purpose of becoming a financial consultant is, and what is the end goal you would like to see for yourself. As we are dealing with our clients personally, having integrity is also important to conduct ourselves honestly and do what is right for our clients.

Be willing to learn.
Even after 10 years into my career, I am always learning new things. Achieving my first Million Dollar Round Table was easily the most rewarding moment of my career, and reminded me that as long as you are willing to learn, willing to commit and not afraid of hardship, you can achieve anything with the right attitude.
