I started my journey in the financial services industry as a student – an alumnus of NUS Business School, in 1996. With 24 years of experience in the financial services industry, I have achieved 5 times Million Dollar Round Table memberships in 5 consecutive years (2003 – 2007), won the Laurel Crown Award in Top 500 Chinese Insurance Agency 2019 and 2020, International Dragon Award (“IDA”) – Silver Dragon Award 2017 and Platinum Dragon Award 2019 and 2020, awarded the Top Executive Director in AIA President Club 2019 and recognized by Financial Services Managers Association at Singapore Management Awards 2019 as one of the Platinum (Group) awardees.
Being the Executive Director of Advisor Alliance Group leading an organisation of 73 financial consultants and leaders, I believe that the grass is never greener on the other side. The grass is only greener where you water it.
On top of being a part of the first and only Singapore team in history to achieve 100 IDA Team Award 2019, I am also a qualifier of AIA High Net Worth Prestige Club, a member of AIA Financial Advisers Pinnacle Club 2020 – Platinum Organisation and awarded the title as High Net Worth Executive Director for consecutive 2 years in 2019 & 2020.
Most recently, I was awarded the 2nd Runner-Up – Top Executive Directors 2019 and 1st Runner-Up – Executive Director 2019, Affluent and High Net Worth.
My motto as a financial consultant? Be MAD.
By MAD, I mean that you need to have Motivation, Attitude and Discipline. These should be the tenets of every financial consultant, and this is especially so when facing rejection is part and parcel of the job. But these are the qualities that will get you through the hardships.
Gratitude is important as well.

Being good at your job is not enough.
In addition to demonstrating competence, you also need to have compassion and integrity in order to serve your clients well. After all, our role as financial consultants aims to provide that human touch, which helps create trust and assurance.
