I was a former regular who had served 8 years in the Singapore Armed Forces before I decided to join the financial services industry. Bringing with me the lessons from multiple mentors and friends during my years in service, I was able to earn my first International Dragon Award – Bronze Dragon Award just slightly over a year into the field and qualified as a member of the AIA Financial Advisers Prestige Titanium Club 2020.

This mid-career switch was motivated by my desire to value-add and empower the people around me, to make decisions that will make their lives better.

Every financial consultant needs that grit.

I believe that as one maintains grit in the pursue for their greatest desire, they will be able to withstand and overcome any obstacles, and eventually achieve what they want. Never give up, no matter how tough the going gets, because nothing bad lasts forever.

As a former regular with the Singapore Armed Forces, I am well-versed and familiar with the kinds of concerns that my peers face. Given my background, I wish to be able to impact the lives of other army regulars as a financial consultant and help them to the best of my ability.

You need a strong heart, and a strong mind.

In addition to compassion, competency and integrity which give financial consultants that personal and human touch to clients, we also need to have discipline in order to put ourselves in the best position to deliver promises to our clients.
