My journey towards becoming a financial consultant started in 2019 when I participated in Advisors Alliance Group’s (AAG) summer internship program. The experience piqued my interest, and I decided to join AAG as a student advisor after completing the program. What drew me to AAG was its unique culture and the people who worked there. At the beginning of my career, I was unsure of what I wanted to do but knew that I did not want a mundane or repetitive job. As I started working as an FC, I realised that this profession offered me flexibility and creativity in the way I ran my business. It allowed me to have control and flexibility over my time, which was crucial as I was studying at the same time. Moreover, I could balance my time between work and family, ensuring that I met my responsibilities to both clients and loved ones. Overall, becoming an FC was the perfect choice for me, as it offered the balance, creativity, and fulfilment I was looking for in a career.

Reflecting on my career thus far, I would say that the most rewarding moment for me was when I achieved my first Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) and International Dragon Award upon graduation. It was a significant milestone, and I was thrilled to share the news with my family, especially my mother and grandparents. Initially, my parents were worried about me joining this career, but now they are supportive and proud of my achievements. It gives me great joy to see my mother display my awards on her table and happily share with her friends about what I do and my accomplishments. Additionally, I feel grateful to be able to give back to my family by treating them to nice meals, buying them gifts, and even taking them overseas. All of these experiences have been incredibly rewarding and have motivated me to continue striving for excellence in my career.

My mother, who is my biggest supporter in life is also who keeps me motivated. Although she was initially hesitant about me joining the industry, she has become one of my biggest cheerleaders and supporters. Knowing that I have her support and that I can make her proud motivates me to do better each day. My mother has always been my role model, not just in my career but in life. She has worked hard to support our family, providing the best for her parents, children, and extended family members. Her selflessness and generosity have always inspired me to be a better person, and I strive to live up to her example. She often tells me, “We always have a big heart for everyone around us. As long as we do our best for others, even if at times we are at a disadvantage, it is okay”. Her words of wisdom have always stuck with me and shaped my life motto to treat people with a sincere heart. She has taught me the importance of hard work, perseverance, and determination, which have been invaluable in my career as an FC. Her unwavering love and support have been a tremendous influence on my career as a FC, and I am grateful for her inspiration and guidance.
