I joined the financial industry as a fresh graduate when I was 23 years old in 2013. I wanted to explore a career without being in a 9am to 5pm desk-bound job, and here I am 10 years later, still in my first job and loving it! In this time, I have qualified as a 3-time AIA FA Centurion Club member and MDRT member.
I remain motivated by my children as I aspire to be a good role model and inspiration to them. My mentor, Lucas, has been the greatest influence in my career and encourages me to push forward year after year. With his guidance, I have gained valuable skillsets and the courage to continue in a highly competitive industry.
Being a financial consultant has allowed me many benefits, but the most important one is the flexibility of time. As a working mother, this has been the greatest asset for my family and I. Being able to work around my children’s schedules and am lucky enough to be present and witness precious milestones in their lives.
Not everyone drinks from the same cup of tea.
I believe that everyone has unique needs and pride myself on providing the right solutions for my clients’ needs.
Everyone has different family dynamics and different financial goals. Being present and listening to my clients and their family’s needs adds a personal touch as there is not one singular insurance policy that fits everyone’s needs. This is especially crucial during the claims process, helping to aid in their recovery and have a healthy growing relationship with them too. To complement my services, I also provide will writing and legacy planning to ensure holistic and well-rounded solutions for my clients.
Aside from providing financial advice, I always ensure I give my time to be a listening ear to my clients. As a mother of 2 myself and with the majority of my clients being parents themselves, we share experiences with each other. And it’s comforting for both parties to know that we’re not alone in this journey.
I learn a lot from my clients and their experiences and I’m thankful to be to learn so much more from them about life while I share financial advice with them.
My years of experience have taught me that honesty in sales and consistency in servicing are the most important traits to allow clients to place their trust in you. Kindness and sincerity go a long way in helping any financial consultant find true success in this career. I would advise anyone considering joining this profession to remember to be patient yet always hungry. Rejections are our daily drug but we must keep going. It’s all about the law of large numbers.
