A financial consultant for 1.5 years now, my first exposure into the financial advisory industry was when I needed to take charge of my family’s finances, as my parents were busy at work. It was at that point that I realised that I was interested in doing this for a career.
A chance to be more than a friend.
Being a financial consultant has allowed me to be more than just a friend to the people around me. It has given me the chance to add something extra to all my relationships and let me be there for my loved ones whom I care about.
Never stop learning.
Every day is different in the life of a financial consultant, and I believe that we’re always learning and adapting to stay relevant for our clients. It is our responsibility to keep up with the times and update our financial knowledge, especially with the world being a fast-changing one.
As financial consulting is a people’s business, I believe having compassion is what will bring financial consultants success in the long run. As a financial consultant, I’ve seen myself play the role of a friend, confidante, and cheerleader! Be willing to put yourself out there and be there for your client, as you’re the one they will have to rely on when dire situations happen.
