My venture into financial consultancy was sparked by my curiosity about how people in the financial services sector can excel in life and enjoy the financial stability that the industry has the potential of offering. Learning more about the industry made me realise that I had a keen interest in it, and the growing culture of the organisations within. More importantly, despite everyone being so successful they were exceptionally helpful, it seemed that the more success they had, the more helpful they were, this got me curious as to why groups of people were so different from the ones that I have met elsewhere. As I’m more of a team player, I started team building at the very onset of the business and that has led to the growth of my business over the past 15 years. One of my proudest accolades in the course of my career is being a recipient of the Silver Dragon Award in 2020 for having groomed more than 6 IDA qualifiers in the team.

Being a key factor in improving the lives of others.
Being instrumental in helping to improve the lives of many of my fellowmen while growing as an individual is one of the key drivers that keep me motivated as a financial consultant.
Besides being their financial consultant, I also play the role of a friend, a listening ear, mentor, coach, helping hand, partner, and a “kang tao” person who provides resources to my clients. Another aspect that I love is playing the role of a coach to my team members while helping them achieve their fullest potential. In the process, they get to achieve their goals and dreams in the shortest time possible while maintaining a work-life balance in their lives. It gives me great joy when our teammates achieve results beyond their wildest imagination.

Never lose sight of who you are.
My authenticity toward the business and to clients is my biggest strength as a financial consultant. When you are real and doing things in the best interest of your clients, they will sense it. One of my Unique Selling Points is the quality of advice that I can provide, as I have been a practising CFP for the past 5 years giving clients advice beyond insurance planning which includes investment planning, retirement planning and estate planning.

Motivating your team members is a key aspect of excelling in the industry.
Achieving the International Dragon Awards (IDA) as a team in 2018, 2019, and 2020 and playing a part in the organisation’s goal of 100 IDA qualifiers is one of the proudest accolades in my journey so far. Achieving this required a lot of grit, problem-solving, communication and encouraging my team members when they faced multiple challenges while working towards this goal. I helped them with overcoming these challenges by constantly encouraging them on their journey there.
