From a humble family, I started out in the industry as a fresh graduate. 4 years into the financial advisory business, I am now a 4-time Million Dollar Round Table member, as well as a winner of the International Dragon Award (“IDA”) – Bronze Dragon Award for 4 years. I was part of Singapore’s first 100 IDA team in history to achieve the 100 IDA Team Award 2019 and also a member of the AIA Financial Advisers Prestige Platinum Club 2020.

Always be humble.
While demonstrating confidence is part and parcel of the job, financial consultants should also be humble and coachable. This job allows us to experience personal growth as we develop relationships with our clients and better learn how to deal with different individuals from different backgrounds. That is what gives me that strong desire to always improve myself.

Leadership is key.
Not only do I wish to become a successful and efficient financial consultant in my career, I also wish to eventually set up my own agency with at least 1,000 staff.

Make the best of what you have.
It is never about the resources that you have, but the resourcefulness and how well you use those resources, no matter how limited they are. Otherwise, you will never be satisfied with your own achievements because you will be stuck in a cycle of comparing yourself to others. Just like our clients, we financial consultants are also unique individuals in our own right.
