OH CHIN IAN ISABELLE

Born in the small town of Kampar, Malaysia, I lost my father at a very young age to nose cancer. These adversities became my motivation, and I eventually earned myself the prestigious ASEAN scholarship to major in Engineering at NTU Singapore. I joined the financial services industry after working for 6 months as an engineer, as I wanted a career with greater purpose, especially in helping families insure against financial despairs rising from the loss of a family member.

Having achieved my 10th consecutive year as a member of AIA Centurion Club in 2019, I have also been a member of Million Dollar Round Table (“MDRT”) for 10th consecutive years since 2011, attaining MDRT Life and Qualifying member in 2021. On top of that, I was awarded the title of Asia’s Most Trusted Financial Adviser by Asia Advisers Network in 2019.

Being a financial consultant is a role with great responsibility.
We are in a position to handle our clients’ finances, and that is why integrity and accountability are the 2 most important qualities that we financial consultants should have.

Speak less and listen more.
The biggest goal of my career is to touch as many lives as possible through my job, and the first step to achieving that is to be able to listen to your clients’ needs and concerns. Learn to add value to others first, before asking what one can get in return.

Engineering experience is not all for nought.
Despite switching careers, I consider my prior experience as a Process Engineer helpful in my present career as it has taught me to be detailed, meticulous and solution-focused. With this in mind, I am able to concoct precise and relevant financial solutions to address my clients’ protection and wealth management needs.
