I began my career in the financial advisory industry in January 2022, transitioning from a career as a social worker where I dedicated nine years to serving communities and individuals in need.

Growing up, I experienced firsthand the benefits of proper insurance planning when both of my parents passed away early due to critical illnesses. This personal history with insurance from the age of 17 profoundly shaped my understanding of its value, steering me towards a career where I could impart this essential safeguard to others.

One of the most memorable and rewarding experiences in my early financial consultancy career occurred during a roadshow — the challenging environment of facing numerous rejections was disheartening until the final day. In the last few hours, I met a young man eager to secure insurance for his wife and unborn child but was under the impression that his previous claims barred him from additional coverage. After several follow-up sessions, my colleague and I successfully extended his medical coverage significantly, which brought him immense relief and security. This achievement not only marked a pivotal moment in my career but also reaffirmed my commitment to making a tangible difference in people’s lives through informed financial planning.

Aaron Dylan Lim, a colleague and mentor, has been a significant influence in my career. Starting out in what seemed an intimidating sales role, I shadowed Aaron, absorbing his techniques and approaches. This mentorship drastically shortened my learning curve, equipped me with effective strategies, and bolstered my confidence, enabling me to serve my clients effectively.
