Coming from an engineering background, I joined the financial advisory industry 10 years ago after discovering my passion for people to help with their financial planning.

Sincerity is the most important trait I look for when recruiting new consultants. While licensing exams can be passed, not every person can easily possess this trait of sincerity and passion for people.
Forging close bonds.
One of the greatest joys of my job comes from being able to play the role of a close friend and confidante to my clients, rather than simply being a financial consultant. I would say that it’s essential to get to know your clients on a deeper level to produce better solutions for their financial needs in the long run.
Time management is essential.
We are our own entrepreneurs in this line of work, and this level of independence comes with the price of having to manage your own time well. You need to possess the discipline and work ethic to always deliver proactively without being prompted, in order to do well in this industry.
