I joined the financial advisory industry fresh out of National Service in 2018. Even though I originally intended to further my studies, I realised that being a financial consultant brings me great satisfaction, and gives me plenty of learning opportunities. Therefore, I am now focusing my time and energy in this industry. I subscribe to the belief of remaining grounded even upon achieving success, and prides myself on doing my job honestly every day.

I am a recipient of the International Dragon Award (IDA) – Bronze Dragon Award 2019 & 2020 (Agent Category), and 100 IDA Team Award 2019 & 2020.

Discipline and structure is the key to success.

The one piece of advice I would give to any new financial consultant, is to understand that the flexibility of time that comes with this job is not for us to work less, but for us to work harder. It is crucial for financial consultants to instil discipline and structure into our lives in order to be effective in this industry.

The importance of following the right mentor.

One of my mentors in AAG is Director Khoo Yong Guan. He is the greatest influence who has inspired me as a financial consultant and I aspire to do my best and learn and succeed with his support and guidance.

Evolving with the times as financial consultants.

Over the years, the public’s financial awareness and literacy have improved tremendously. Today, people know the importance of financial planning and it is just a matter of when, and with who. Thus, financial consultants need to similarly evolve with the times, and focus on increasing our knowledge so that we can effectively manage our client’s monies and gain the trust of our clients.
