Over the last 17 years, I have groomed 9 executive directors, 50 leaders, and over 500 financial consultants. Formerly an NUS FASS graduate who majored in Economics. I ultimately decided to pursue financial advisory, as I felt that entrepreneurship was the only way that could change my family’s life for the better.

A journey not walked alone.

My most memorable career experience is witnessing the journey and progress I’ve made alongside the first 3 consultants who joined me, who are now all Executive Directors. I’ve always believed that it is one’s resourcefulness, rather than resources, that makes one successful.

Always help others.

As a leader, we have to learn to always put the interest of others above yours and focus on the collective successes of the team rather than just yours. It is important that followers can trust that when they do follow you, you can help them be the best version of themselves.

Pivot and change when needed.

Always be willing and ready to adapt to changes. Plans will never be able to catch up with real-time situations so be firm with your goals and flexible with your approaches. During the Covid-19 pandemic, I’ve learnt the importance of digitalisation, and have since created digital animations of 30 lessons in 30 years on my Instagram, @_raytan.
