My parents knew the importance of financial literacy, and I saw how they were able to enjoy semi-retirement in their late 40s. Through them, my interest in anything finance was ignited. I joined the financial advisory industry in 2022 with the hopes of sharing my knowledge and ideas, with the rest of Singapore, and for the betterment of Singapore. I hope to become a shining star in the darkest days of my clients and loved ones.

Achieving MDRT in my second month of the business is a testament to the good faith, support, and love I have from those around me, and remains my proudest moment in my career. The desire to become a better and more capable son to my parents has always been the driving force in my work while my greatest inspiration is my executive director, Yong Guan. Being the youngest Executive Director in AIAFA, Yong Guan has inspired me to work towards achieving even greater heights in this career, coming in as a 21-year-old.

Being a FC has added value to my own life in tangible and non-tangible ways. It has allowed me to make so many new friends and forge so many wonderful bonds and memories with those around me. I believe this is an evergreen role because it involves me making it work for myself. It is a career which relies solely on merit, and merit is un-ending when one puts their mind and spirit to undertake it.

When recruiting new talent, I look for the belief in oneself that they can move mountains, despite the backgrounds they may come from. The stigma & entrepreneurial aspects of this job can be quite daunting to some so I find like-minded people who have the perseverance and grit to overcome these.

In this industry, loyalty would be the most important trait. Loyalty to a cause, to a client, and our work, will make the career all the more fulfilling and eye-opening. Learning to have more patience will also make this industry work in your favour.
