TAN MENG LI CALEB

In the industry for 10 years now, I have been in financial consulting with AAG since I completed my National Service at the age of 23. Thanks to the solid mentoring that I attribute my success to, this is my third consecutive year receiving the AIA FA Top 5 Senior Director award.

My approach to financial consulting is one that focuses on solutions. I believe there still exists a preconceived notion that financial consultants simply sell products, when in actuality, the industry focuses on providing holistic planning and solutions for clients.

This career is a marathon.
The Covid-19 pandemic really tested the industry, and we have to live with the pandemic and face it head on, rather than avoid it. The financial advisory business is a marathon, and we are bound to meet many challenges along the way. We must embrace these changes, and face whatever challenges that come along by adapting well with realities on the ground.

Focus on long-term success.
I strive to stay focused in doing well, whilst also leading my team successfully with people from all walks of life. I see my teammates as my inspiration, and I want to give them the best leadership advice to take them to the next level.

Giving back to the world.
This career is never a one-man show. Any success that I’ve enjoyed is to the credit of the team. I also make it a point to give back to the world. In AAG, we have the Hope For Pearl project where we will sponsor a kid from China to assist with food and lodging expenses. I’ve been a donor of this programme since it started around 5 years ago, and it’s a good platform for us to pay it forward. Hopefully, the world can become a better place because of the efforts we put in today.
