I was previously in IT Security, and while my remuneration was great, it was like a virus taking a toll on my health and relationships. When i first received news of my daughter’s arrival, I desperately searched for a way out. I explored all viable career options and spoke to people from different sectors and backgrounds. After 8 months of this, I realised I wanted a fulfilling career where I interact with humans and work with humans. Eventually having to experience firsthand how a financial consultant impacts lives and preparations from AIAFA, I decided to take the step of confidence into the financial industry in 2021.

I remember while doing my usual policy summary for a client, I discovered that his insurance coverage had lapsed a few years back when his parents stopped paying for it. As he was a working adult now, I advised him to investigate the insurance gaps. Six months later, he had an accident while bouldering that resulted in a high hospital bill. Fortunately, he had already taken steps to fill their insurance coverage gaps based on our earlier discussion. Most importantly, I was able to arrange for him to receive medical attention without delay quickly. It’s these moments that remind me why I find my work so meaningful – being able to assist people when they need it most!
