Right after university, I was working as a marketing executive before I was introduced to AAG and the financial advisory industry. A dear friend of mine invited me to a career exploratory event, and the interaction with the people there changed my perspectives and understanding of the industry altogether. I eventually realised that being a financial consultant aligns with my values and aspirations, and with that, I embarked on this career 6 years ago!

Find your reason to go on.
My parents are my motivation. I’m very thankful to have supportive parents since the first day of my financial consulting career, and I’m grateful that being in this industry allows me to take better care of them as the eldest daughter. As the saying goes, the speed of our success has to be faster than the speed our parents are ageing.

Everything has a time and place.
Knowing that we as individuals grow as we brave through different experiences in life, I’ve also come to realise and reinforce that everything has a time and place, and anything great is built over time, bit by bit, with a strong core and foundation. Similarly, our financial portfolios are also built based on our evolving needs through different stages in our life. With the wisdom and knowledge I’ve gained from this line of work, I hope to impact the lives of as many people as possible, be it my loved ones, friends, colleagues, clients or my clients’ families and friends. I hope that those whose lives crossed mine will feel happy, inspired, and well-protected through the meaningful relationships that we build over time.

To succeed in this industry, visualise for yourself how this career could align with your goals and aspirations. Think about what kind of advisor you would want to have, and what you can do to be that person. Most importantly, stay humble and work hard so that you can determine your own growth! Be a listening ear, a helping hand, and have the heart to connect, relate and build meaningful friendships with!
