I started my career in a bank as a financial consultant, and over the course of my work, I learned a lot through my clients about their needs and goals. Their experiences with holistic planning through insurance helped shape my understanding and belief that it can be an effective tool in a myriad of circumstances. It also helped chart my career in a different direction, which would eventually turn out to be with AIA today. I feel fortunate to have this career as a financial consultant, which allows me to impact lives I would not have otherwise been able to in a different career.

Dare to dream big.
My manager has greatly influenced and inspired my career. He personally recruited me in his early days. I witnessed his persistence and tenacity to dare to dream big, and that continues to inspire me every day.

Firsthand experience with the importance of financial planning.
I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 2017. I only found out after a trip to the emergency room after almost collapsing at work. It was an ordeal being hospitalised and finding out that I have a chronic illness that requires medication for life. But I was also thankful that my finances were not adversely affected during this period because my insurance was in place. This was entirely credited to my insurance agent and current manager, Caleb. He helped me understand early on the importance of financial planning. Witnessing quality planning and eventually being a beneficiary of insurance has certainly helped shape my conviction towards providing quality financial advice to my clients. Even though I am no longer insurable, I am glad that through me, my clients can better understand the importance of insurance.
