I joined the financial advisory industry in 2018 at the age of 24, after working for an events company and cryptocurrency consultancy firm. Seeing how Singapore is viewed as a bustling financial hub despite many Singaporeans struggling to retire or poor in basic financial literacy, I decided to make the switch to this industry.

After 3 years of meeting countless families and individuals around Singapore and also through in-depth financial conversations with my close friends and relatives, I realised the impact that financial consultants have on each family they come into contact with.

Financial planning is a lifelong journey.

I provide financial advice to my clients according to not just my own personal experience of figuring out how to be on track to be financially free, I also learn from people older than me and leverage their examples to provide a goal for my other clients. Learning is a two-way street in this industry, and just like financial planning, learning is also a lifelong journey!

Experience the industry to know your fit.

The unique thing about this profession is that you can’t expect results like what they tell you in textbooks. The only way to know if this is an industry suitable for you is to experience it yourself! I’ve always felt that being a financial consultant is a very “human” job, where you play the role of a close friend or close family member to your clients to better understand their financial goals. Ultimately, it is about having someone there to lend a helping hand in times of need, or a listening ear or shoulder for them to cry on.

Remaining optimistic for the future.

My greatest achievements to date are the Million Dollar Round Table and International Dragon Award, but I hope things do not end here. I look forward to having my own organisation of competent and trustworthy advisors within AAG.
