I was previously part of an accelerator programme as a budding entrepreneur, but ultimately decided to join the financial services industry as I found the job meaningful, and directly impacts the lives of the people around me.

Since I entered the field almost a year ago, I have achieved my first Million Dollar Round Table membership and International Dragon Award 2020 – Bronze Dragon Award. I am also a member of the AIA Financial Advisers Prestige Platinum Club 2020.

The onus is on us to do a proper job.

That’s why we should always possess integrity. Our clients trust us and their money is also placed with us, and therefore we carry a heavy responsibility to do our job right and deliver the promises we made with them.

In for the long haul.

Even though I am still relatively new in the industry, I see this as a long-term commitment as our relationship with our clients are a marathon, not a sprint. Eventually, the goal is to be able to build a mega agency where I can groom the next generation of financial consultants who have the same hunger for success as me.

Most importantly, be enthusiastic!

Financial consulting is not an easy job, and optimism goes a long way into building a lifelong career out of it. You need to remain enthusiastic even when you face a multitude of rejections throughout your career, because trust that the ups will always outweigh the downs.
