A financial consultant for 7 years now, I was seeking a fulfilling career while embarking on my personal financial journey after graduation. After working for 10 years in the corporate world for MNC companies, I have seen and experienced firsthand how corporate businesses work, which gave me a competitive edge when speaking to clients.

A career to better oneself
I chose this career as I wanted to work on bettering myself. I did my own research and studied while I was managing my finances as I didn’t have anyone that I felt I could trust. An opportunity was offered to me and I thought it was a good chance to learn the skills and knowledge that I could never acquire in school. What appeared initially as a part-time job has since evolved into a full-time career, and I have never looked back.

Pulling through difficult times
Although it is not an easy career, what keeps me going is being reminded of the trust that my clients have in me, and the level of support from them that has helped me pull through tough times.

Keep doing what you do to help people
Trust that clients will really appreciate your effort when you are honest and truly care for them. No one said the beginning of a career is easy, and my advice for financial consultants starting out is to push through and keep doing what you do to help people.
